Who was Oregon's Biggest "Miss" in the 2025 class?

RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Oregon's 2025 recruiting class was a bumpy ride, but in the end, it was a big success. Even though it was a success, there were still a lot of big misses that could have taken this class to the next level. Here are my top five "misses" in the 2025 class for Oregon.

5. 4-star TE Da'Saahn Brame

Brame's recruitment was a wild one. Oregon was the favorite for the majority of his recruitment, but when commitment day came, he couldn't decide whether he wanted to go to Oregon or Tennessee. He made a panicked commitment and actually chose Oregon, but then a month later, he flipped to Tennessee. I have Brame at #5 because tight end was a major need for Oregon in this class, and he was a top 2 target at the position.

4. 5-star QB Jaron Keawe-Sagapolutele

Typically, losing your 5-star QB hurts like heck, and while it definitely stung, Oregon should have Dante for two more years, and you have guys like Luke Moga and Akili Smith Jr getting developed. On top of that, Oregon will sign one of the best QB's in the 2026 class. And if all else fails, Oregon will always be a top option for portal QB's.

3. 5-star DB DJ Pickett

Pickett is one of the most physically gifted defensive backs in recent years. Oregon was considered the favorite for his commitment for weeks, but when commitment day arrived, he chose LSU, shocking most Oregon fans. If it wasn’t for the heartbreak this one caused, he might have been lower on the list given the DBs Oregon signed. Regardless, missing out on a 5-star, 6'4 DB stings.

2. 5-star WR Dallas Wilson

Losing Dallas Wilson the way we did was heartbreaking. He was committed for almost two years and even signed with Oregon, but shortly after, he was released from his NLI. Pairing Dallas with Dakorien would have been the perfect combination—Moore's speed and quickness paired with Wilson's height and physicality. This one stung a lot more than the others on this list.

1. 5-star TE Linkon Cure

Missing out on Linkon Cure was the biggest miss for Oregon in 2025, in my opinion. He was Oregon's top tight end target, and we nearly landed him twice. When he first committed, Oregon was primed to land him, but K-State swooped in at the last minute. Eventually, Oregon got him back on campus, and after that visit, he was ready to flip and even had a graphic prepared. However, K-State swooped in yet again to keep him. On top of all that, tight end was a bigger need than the other positions on this list, making him my biggest miss for Oregon in 2025.

Honorable Mentions:

5-star OT Michael Fasusi, 5-star S Jonah Williams, 4-star LB Noah Mikhail, 4-star TE Andrew Olesh.
