What’s Next for Oregon Football Recruiting?
RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Oregon’s 2026 class is off to a huge start. The Ducks have 17 commits, including five composite 5-star players. They also have the highest average rating per commit in the country. Even with all that, the class is not done. Here’s what to expect next.
1. Jalen Brewster Might Reclassify
There is a good chance that 5-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster will move from the 2027 class to 2026. This has been talked about for a while, and it is no longer a secret. If he does reclassify, Oregon is in a great spot to land him. He would become Oregon’s top target right away. The Ducks still need at least one or two more defensive linemen, and Brewster would be a perfect fit.
2. Possible Flips
Now that most early targets are committed, Oregon will try to flip some players who are already committed to other schools. The staff has strong relationships with many of these recruits, so it makes sense to stay in contact. Oregon will also send out new offers to rising players in the 2026 class.
3. Watch for Late Bloomers
Every year a few players break out late in the season. Last year it happened with Zac Stascausky and Tobi Haastrup. This year it might have already happened with quarterback Bryson Beaver. If another player breaks out, Oregon could get involved quickly.
4. What Positions Are Still Needed
Linebacker and defensive line are the biggest needs. Oregon could also take another edge rusher, cornerback, offensive lineman, or maybe even a running back. Since the class is mostly full, the Ducks can be very selective with who they go after. They also need to make sure the current commits stay solid. I expect this class to finish at around 20 players.
