RECRUITING FOOTBALL

12/4/20242 min read

Signing day is less than 24 hours away and it will be a roller coaster ride. Oregon will have their ups and downs, but trust this staff to get things done the best way possible. With that said, here is the latest buzz.

Elijah Melendez

Oregon just flipped Gavin Nix away from Miami but there are still multiple linebacker targets out there. Melendez was trending well to Oregon for a few weeks now but he told an auburn insider that he is signing with the tigers. Even with this news, I am not totally counting him out. Oregon has been quietly recruiting him for awhile now and I've heard many positive things about Oregon's chances. It obviously does not sound good, but I'm not totally buying it until pen hits paper. Another thing to note is that Oregon signed three blue-chip linebackers in 2024, so how much room is there after landing Nix?

5-star TE Linkon Cure

We've seen numerous predictions in for Oregon to eventually flip the 5-star TE, but Kansas State is not out of it. I mentioned they were still recruiting him, and there is a real chance he signs with Kansas State. This is one to keep an eye on, but I still lean 70-30 in favor of Oregon.

Tobi Haastrup

Oregon is in the thick of this but it's going to be a battle. I've seen a couple predictions in favor of Missouri but I have a hard time seeing the staff miss out on both Stewart and Haastrup. Oregon is very much still alive in this recruitment, but they seem to have some work to do.

Andrew Olesh

**IF**Cure does in fact stick with K-State, expect Oregon to make a serious run at Olesh. Oregon brought him on an OV for a reason.

Jaron Keawe-Sagapolutele

This one is still super close. Cal just moved on from their offensive coordinator which is odd timing considering this recruitment. Oregon was his dream school but they still have work to do if they want to sign him.

Kaleb Burns

Baring a surprise, Burns does not seem to be headed to Eugene. Baylor looks like they'll keep him.

Finney and Wilson

Both are still expected to sign with Oregon. I'm more confident in Finney but both are looking good. Schools are still contacting both of them though.

Na'eem Offord

I saved the best for last. Confidence is growing for Oregon in this recruitment. By no means is he a lock to Oregon, but this is the best I've felt about Oregon's chances since his OV during the Ohio State game. All three schools are still alive, but Oregon is gaining traction with less than a day to go.

Surprises

This staff has a track record of pulling off big surprises on signing day. We'll see if Oregon has anymore in store. DJ Pickett, Jahkeem Stewart, and Omarion Robinson are a few names to watch.
