Oregon's tight end recruiting in 2025 was full of ups and downs. Da'Saahn Brame committed and then backed out a month later. Then, Oregon missed out on Linkon Cure, Kaleb Edwards, Nate Roberts, and Andrew Olesh. Eventually, Oregon landed 4-star Vander Ploog, but it was a wild ride. In 2026, things are off to a much better start with 5-star and #1 ranked tight end Kendre Harrison already committed. Oregon is likely going to try to sign two tight ends in 2026, and another top 5 tight end is planning to visit for Junior Day.

4-star tight end Israel Briggs says he will visit Oregon on January 25th for Junior Day. Briggs is listed at 6'5, 200 pounds, and plays at Redwood High School in Visalia, California. He mostly plays wide receiver in high school, but he is expected to switch to tight end in college.

Oregon already has Kendre Harrison committed, but the Ducks want to add another tight end in 2026. Along with Harrison and Briggs, Oregon is also recruiting 4-star Brock Harris and 4-star Ian Premer. If Oregon can add one of these players to join Harrison, it would give them the best tight end class in the country. The Ducks are clearly making tight end a priority this cycle after last years debacle.

Briggs has at least 23 offers, including ones from UCLA, Miami, Alabama, and Oregon. According to his 247Sports scouting report, Briggs was one of the fastest-rising recruits this offseason. He plays football, basketball, and track, showing his athletic ability. The report says he is great at catching 50/50 balls and is great at making plays after the catch. While he would need to gain some weight to play tight end in college, his 6'5 frame gives him plenty of room to grow.

Briggs is quickly becoming one of the top recruits in the country. He jumped over 150 spots in the latest Top247 Update, moving from #217 to #66. He is now ranked as a top 5 tight end in the 2026 class. Oregon already has one tight end committed but is looking for a second, and Briggs could be the perfect fit. His Junior Day visit on January 25th could be a big step toward adding him to the team.
