RECRUITING FOOTBALL

With signing day coming up quickly, Oregon is gearing up to make big moves in recruiting. The Ducks have recently set their sights on another blue-chip prospect who could be a great addition to their 2025 class. This recruit already has an official visit to Eugene locked in.

The player to watch is 4-star EDGE Tobi Haastrup from Houston, Texas. Oregon offered him only about a week ago, but Haastrup has already scheduled his visit. He’s an exciting recruit with an interesting backstory, as he’s originally from London and didn’t start playing football until his senior year of high school. Despite being new to the game, Haastrup’s recruitment is already picking up speed.

Haastrup has confirmed that he’ll be in Eugene for the Oregon-Washington game on November 30th. Over the last few months, he’s been busy visiting other programs as well. Since October, he’s taken official visits to Boston College, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Florida State, and Texas Tech. He’ll also visit USC this weekend, Michigan next weekend, and finally Oregon before making his commitment.

Listed at 6'4 and 230 pounds, Haastrup is ranked as the 275th best recruit in the nation, according to the 247Sports composite. He wasn’t even on the rankings until September, showing just how recently he’s made his way onto the recruiting radar.

Right now, it’s still unclear which program is in the lead to land Haastrup, but Oregon will get its chance to make an impression during his visit for the big game against Washington. The Ducks have recruited the EDGE position strongly in recent years, with 2025 commits like EDGE/DL Matthew Johnson and hybrid EDGE/LB Nasir Wyatt also on board.

If Oregon adds Haastrup, he’ll join an already talented edge rusher group at Oregon, which would only strengthen their defensive line. With his fast and recent ascension, Haastrup could be an underrated addition to the Ducks 2025 class.
