The Latest In Oregon Recruiting 9/16
RECRUITING FOOTBALL
9/17/20252 min read
It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these, mostly because there hasn’t been much happening in recruiting with commitment season wrapping up. Now, we shift into flip season, and Oregon is still actively pursuing several prospects who are currently committed elsewhere. Here’s what I know about who Oregon is pursuing and more:
Potential New Target:
I’ve confirmed that Oregon is keeping tabs on 4-star Georgia Tech cornerback commit Jaedyn Terry. He’s listed at 6'3, 175 pounds and is from Georgia. While Oregon hasn’t extended an offer yet, if one comes, Terry will definitely be a name to watch.
Flip Targets
4-star WR Kayden Dixon-Wyatt
The Ohio State WR commit is still getting recruited by Oregon and the Ducks are trying to get him back on campus for a visit, but nothing is set up yet. We'll see if that happens, but Oregon has not given up.
5-star WR Chris Henry. Jr
From one Ohio State commit to another, Oregon is still working to flip Henry. This will almost certainly be a tougher battle than with Dixon-Wyatt, but Henry may be the higher priority. If Oregon has a chance, it starts with getting him back on campus.
4-star DL Tico Crittendon
Crittendon is a prospect we haven’t talked much about. Oregon didn’t offer until May, and he committed to Florida State in June. I'm not sure how hard Oregon is pushing, but there is some level of communication going on. Whether or not he visits campus will say a lot, but he’s a name worth keeping an eye on.
5-star SAF Joey O'Brien
The Notre Dame defensive back commit is still in touch with Oregon. Notre Dame’s 0-2 start could help the Ducks, but the key will be whether he sets up a visit. Flipping O’Brien may be tricky since Oregon already has two quality safeties committed, but it’s a situation to watch.
Commit Status
Immanuel Iheanacho and Anthony “Tank” Jones have both taken recent visits, Tank to Miami and Nacho to LSU. Nacho will also be at Penn State for their game against Oregon but is set to return to Eugene for the Wisconsin and USC games. Alabama is still pushing for Tank, though he’s also expected back in Eugene again this season. Both remain very strong with Oregon for now, and I haven't heard anything to make me concerned, but other visits are always something to keep an eye on.
Final Notes/Thoughts
Oregon’s class is in a strong spot, giving them the flexibility to cherry-pick flips down the stretch. It’s also worth remembering that Oregon is one of the most aggressive programs in the transfer portal, so any gaps in high school recruiting can be filled there. The biggest needs I still see are on the defensive line, interior offensive line, and at linebacker. Two other names I haven't mentioned that I would keep an eye on are DL Deuce Geralds and LB Nick Abrams, along with any new offers that pop up. Oregon has a history of making signing-day splashes, and it wouldn’t be surprising if they did it again.
