The Latest In Oregon Recruiting 6/18 (Updated)

RECRUITING FOOTBALL

6/19/20251 min read

This week will be pivotal for Oregon recruiting, with 5-star defensive back duo Brandon Arrington and Joey O'Brien set to announce their commitments. On top of that, 5-star safety Jett Washington is closing in on a decision of his own. The next few days will be critical. Here’s the latest on those three and more:

5-star CB Brandon Arrington

Brandon Arrington is set to announce his commitment tomorrow, but unfortunately, as of this afternoon, he appears to be trending toward Texas A&M. I’m told Oregon is still making a hard push, so we’ll see if they can shift the momentum before the decision.

5-star SAF Joey O'Brien

Joey O'Brien is set to announce his commitment on Friday, and I still see this as an Oregon vs. Notre Dame battle. I’ve seen others log predictions for Notre Dame, and that’s a real possibility, but I’m told Oregon has some real confidence they can land him. This one’s still too close to call, but Oregon has a very real shot to bring him to the west coast. UPDATE: Notre Dame is trending for O'Brien heading into tomorrow's announcement. We'll see if Oregon can make a move but it's not looking good.

5-star SAF Jett Washington

Oregon is still sitting in a fantastic spot for Jett Washington. At this point, if he were to commit elsewhere, it would be a shock. Expect a decision soon.

4-star QB's Bryson Beaver and Matt Ponatoski

Both quarterbacks will visit this weekend, but Oregon has a much better shot at landing Bryson Beavers. Ponatoski is expected to be selected in the MLB Draft, meaning any school hoping to sign him will have to outbid his potential professional baseball earnings. Beavers isn’t rated quite as high yet, but he could be a fast riser in the rankings. Oregon only recently offered, but the Ducks are already in pole position heading into his visit.

A couple cancelled OV's this weekend

I’ve confirmed that 4-star LB Kenneth Goodwin and 4-star RB TJ Hodges will no longer be visiting this weekend. I don’t believe Goodwin will reschedule, but Hodges tells me his visit has simply been pushed back to a later date.
