The Latest In Oregon Recruiting 5/29

RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Oregon's 2026 recruiting class has been a wild ride so far. Numerous big-time recruits have decommitted, most recently Richard Wesley, who had committed earlier this month. The crazy part is, even with all these ups and downs, Oregon’s class still has the potential to be the best in school history. We’ll see how it unfolds, but here’s the latest on several Oregon targets.

5-star EDGE Richard Wesley

Wesley’s recruitment has been really weird. He made a surprise commitment to Oregon, then "decommitted" just a few weeks later. From the sounds of it, though, this was more about him wanting to keep taking visits. His dad even mentioned there were still things — mainly NIL — that needed to be worked out. So, it’s probably just a move to boost his NIL value. That said, Oregon still wants him, and the Ducks are still the team to beat. But this one could drag out all the way to December.

4-star WR Messiah Hampton

Hampton is set to commit on June 13, which could line up with his Oregon official visit from June 13-15. Still working to confirm if that’s still his visit date, but either way, Oregon is in a great spot. This recruitment has been all about new wide receivers coach Ross Douglas — if he wasn’t here, Oregon wouldn’t even be in this position. Hampton still has official visits lined up with Syracuse and Miami, but right now, Oregon is looking strong.

4-star DB Xavier Lherisse

Lherisse is still committed to Oregon, but I’ve confirmed he plans to take official visits to Auburn, Notre Dame, FSU, and Oregon. Based on how many slot DBs Oregon is actively targeting, I’ve got a gut feeling he might end up elsewhere. Plus, being from Florida, distance isn’t exactly working in Oregon’s favor here.

4-star DL Duece Geralds

Ohio State is the team to beat for Geralds. He’s set to take official visits to LSU, Ole Miss, Oregon, and Ohio State in that order. With Oregon losing two of their other defensive line commits, expect the Ducks to come hard with an aggressive NIL offer for Geralds, who’s arguably the best pass-rushing DT in the class. Oregon’s still in it — but definitely playing from behind.

5-star EDGE Anthony Jones

Jones is a guy I haven’t talked about enough. Oregon has quietly been in a really good spot with him. They’re not the leader, but they’re definitely in his top-3 right now. He’s already visited three times, and his official visit is set for June 13-15. This recruitment kind of reminds me of Na’eem Offord’s last year. Oregon’s battling Auburn, Alabama, and Miami, among others — and the Ducks have a legit shot to eventually land the 5-star.

5-star SAF Jireh Edwards

This recruitment could still go in any direction. As of now, Oregon, Georgia, and Alabama look like the frontrunners, but his official visits will be very telling. Oregon does get the final OV before he commits on July 5, which is huge — but landing this one won’t come cheap.

Here’s a handful of recruits I feel Oregon leads for right now:

Jett Washington, Tommy Tofi, Immanuel Iheanacho, Jalen Lott, Ryder Lyons, Richard Wesley, Messiah Hampton, Davon Benjamin
