The Latest In Oregon Recruiting 5/13
RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Oregon finally ended its dry spell over the weekend with the commitment of 5-star edge rusher Richard Wesley. But the Ducks aren’t done yet — they could land another major piece today, as Jackson Cantwell is set to announce his decision later. Oregon also just wrapped up a massive recruiting weekend. Here’s the latest:
5-star OT Jackson Cantwell
Jackson Cantwell is set to announce his commitment today at 12:30 PM PST. Georgia has been viewed as the frontrunner for the past week, but Oregon is still in the mix. The Ducks made a visit to him just yesterday and are continuing to push hard to flip the momentum. I checked in after the visit last night and was told that Oregon still has a shot here. This will be one to monitor closely throughout the day. That said, I still lean toward Georgia ultimately getting it done. Miami also remains in the picture, reportedly making the highest NIL offer.
4-star SAF Devin Jackson
Devin Jackson visited Oregon over the weekend, and he previously told me he was planning to schedule an official visit with the Ducks following the trip. I haven’t dug too deep into his recruitment yet, but it looks like Oregon’s biggest competition is coming from Miami. That said, I still feel more confident about Oregon’s chances with Jett Washington and Jireh Edwards than I do with Jackson at this point.
4-star SAF Joey O'Brien
O’Brien visited Oregon over the weekend and reportedly told On3’s Steve Wiltfong that the Ducks were his leader coming out of the trip. That said, this recruitment is far from over. He’s scheduled to return to Eugene for his official visit from June 6–8, but Notre Dame remains a major threat and will host him for his final OV. Oregon’s safety recruiting will be one to watch moving forward — especially with Xavier Lherisse already committed. The big question now: how many safeties can Oregon sign?
4-star WR Messiah Hampton
Heading into his weekend visit, I reported that Oregon was gaining serious momentum with Hampton — and coming out of the trip, I still love where the Ducks stand. Unless he commits soon, it looks like he’ll move forward with his official visits, with Oregon set to host him June 13–15. Right now, Miami appears to be Oregon’s toughest competition.
4-star CB Camren Hamiel
Hamiel is a name Oregon fans should start paying closer attention to. This was his second visit to Eugene in the past month, and the Ducks could very well be emerging as the leader in his recruitment. It’s shaping up to be a four-team race, with Oregon, Nebraska, Texas A&M, and Penn State all set to host him for official visits. Oregon’s OV is scheduled for June 13–15, and the Ducks are clearly one of the programs standing out early.

It's still early but Oregon leads for these recruits that were just on campus: Prince Tavizon, Troy Bowens, Lex Mailangi, Isaiah Phelps, and Ayden Edwards ('28)
