The Latest in Oregon Recruiting 2/18

RECRUITING FOOTBALL

2/19/20251 min read

It's been a few weeks since I did one of these so it's a good time for another. There's a few more 2026 targets that have emerged recently as well as a potential flip target. Here's the latest.

New 2026 Targets

A few new targets have emerged for Oregon. High 3-star cornerback Ryan Gilbert decommitted from Texas A&M last week, and Oregon is one of the teams to watch. The 5'10, 170-pound defensive back from North Forney High School in Forney, Texas, tells me he plans to visit the Ducks in March or April.

4-star linebacker Nick Abrams has also emerged as a new target for Oregon. The 6'2, 210-pounder from McDonogh High School in Owings Mills, Maryland, tells me he is looking to visit the Ducks in the spring. He comes from the same school as Oregon true freshman Brandon Finney.

4-star LB Jakore Smith is another recruit that Oregon is starting to recruit. He's a 6'0, 190 pounder from Parkview Magnet High School in Little Rock, Arkansas, and he tells me he has a visit in the works to the ducks.

Flip Target

4-star cornerback Shavar Young committed to Clemson over the Ducks in August, but Oregon has kept in contact, and he tells me another visit to Eugene is not off the table.

Other Notes

  • Oregon is still keeping in contact with 4-star WR Brayden Robinson but they are not pushing too hard right now. Another visit is not out of the question.

  • Jonas Williams is still trending away from Oregon.

  • As of now, Oregon is not recruiting 4-star OT Felix Ojo.

  • Sounds like Oregon has the edge for 5-star CB Elbert Hill right now.
