The Latest In Oregon Recruiting

RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Oregon is making big moves in recruiting, continuing to attract top talent from across the country. Head coach Dan Lanning and his staff are working hard to secure commitments and bring in some of the best prospects. With more visits and decisions coming up, Oregon’s recruiting efforts are gaining a lot of attention recently. Here is the latest in Oregon recruiting to get you caught up.

Is Another Quarterback Commit Coming?

Oregon recently offered 4-star Cal commit Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele and there's been whispers going around that he could flip in the near future. However, that does not seem like the case. He tells me it is very unlikely he shows up for a gameday visit this season because of his own season. But he is open to taking a visit after his season. Oregon is still a MAJOR threat to flip him, but it doesn't seem like anything will happen in the near future.

TE Recruiting Update

Obviously, Oregon does not have a tight end commit right now, but that is going to change eventually. I reported earlier that Oregon was still pushing for Linkon Cure and that Vander Ploog was going to visit at some point this season. While both are still true, Oregon is pushing a lot harder for Cure at the moment. Cure is this staffs top target and they are throwing everything they have at him. He still does not have a return visit set but he is expected to make it out at some point.

Kaleb Burns

Recently, there was a prediction placed for Kaleb Burns to flip to Oklahoma, but I can tell you that Oregon is team in the best position to flip him right now. Oregon has made him a big priority with Dan Lanning himself leading the charge. While he is set to visit Oklahoma on the 19th, Oregon seems to be the team in front right now.

Brief Flip Target Updates

Oregon is still pushing hard for Texas A&M LB commit Noah Mikhail but a visit is still not on his calendar yet. However, there is some smoke that another flip target will make it up this weekend. I previously reported that Ohio State 4-star DL commit Trajen Odom was considering a return visit for this weekend against the buckeyes. As of right now nothing is confirmed but don't be surprised if he ends up in Eugene this weekend.

Is an Oregon Commit on Flip Watch?

Oregon commit Brandon Finney will return to Eugene this weekend and this visit will be very important. Finney recently took visits to Michigan and Penn State and both are working really hard to flip him. If any of Oregon's commits are on "flip watch" it's Finney. There should absolutely be some concern for ducks fans in this one but this visit could change things.

Could we see a Commit this Weekend?

With this weekend being so massive, be on the lookout for a commit or two. Nothing is guaranteed to happen but keep an eye on Burns and Madsen.
