RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Oregon and USC are no strangers when it comes to heated recruiting battles. Over the past few years, Oregon has often come out on top, landing key prospects over the Trojans. However, with USC's recent resurgence on the field under Lincoln Riley, recruiting battles are becoming even tougher. As the Trojans show more and more progression, Oregon faces more challenges when competing for top tier recruits that now see USC as a more appealing option.
During official visit season, Oregon had planned to host 4-star EDGE Hayden Lowe. However, Lowe's first visit was to USC, and it made such an impression that he committed to the Trojans during the trip, cancelling his scheduled visit to Eugene. Despite this, Oregon has not backed down from pursuing Lowe. According to Rivals' Adam Gorney, the Ducks are "working hard" to flip him from USC.
I previously reported that Lowe was planning on making a gameday visit to Oregon this season. It appears that he will be in Eugene sometime this month, and I will continue to try and confirm an exact date. Oregon’s coaching staff has maintained its focus on Lowe, and he remains a high priority target going forward.
Lowe currently plays high school football for Oaks Christian in Westlake, California, the same high school that produced former Oregon first round draft pick Kayvon Thibodeaux. Oregon head coach Dan Lanning even visited Oaks Christian during the Ducks bye week, showing how important Lowe is to their recruiting efforts.
Listed at 6'4 and 242 pounds, Lowe is ranked as a 4-star prospect and #282 overall according to the 247Sports composite rankings. With offers from top programs like Alabama, Ohio State, Miami, and Georgia, Lowe is a big-time recruit garnering interest nationwide. Oregon has won several head-to-head battles against USC in recent years, and it remains to be seen whether the Ducks can continue that trend by flipping Lowe.
