RECRUITING FOOTBALL

It’s crunch time, folks! Signing day is less than two weeks away, and Oregon is gearing up to welcome some new additions to its 2025 class. But as exciting as new commitments are, retention is just as critical. One of Oregon’s prized 5-star commits is reportedly expected back on campus soon, a big development as the Ducks look to solidify their elite recruiting class.

According to On3’s Corey Bender, 5-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson is planning a return trip to Eugene. Wilson is set to take an official visit to Florida this weekend, but Bender reports that Wilson “is planning to get out to Oregon after that.” This visit will likely be during Oregon’s rivalry game against Washington on November 30th. This would mean Oregon would get the last visit and that's always important in recruiting.

Even with the trip to Florida, Oregon remains in a strong position to retain Wilson. He’s been pledged to the Ducks for nearly two years and has consistently expressed his love for Oregon’s program. Distance from his Tampa home is the biggest hurdle Oregon faces, but if he does make this return visit, it would give Oregon the final word in his recruitment.

Right now, this recruitment seems to be a two-team race between Oregon and Florida. Miami appears to have faded in recent weeks. Florida State and UCF have also made efforts, but neither program is expected to challenge Oregon or Florida in the final stretch.

Oregon’s wide receiver class is shaping up to be one of the best in the nation. Alongside Wilson, the Ducks have commitments from 5-star Dakorien Moore and 4-star Cooper Perry. While Moore recently visited LSU, it would be a major shock to see him flip. Perry, meanwhile, has publicly shut down his recruitment and remains locked in with Oregon. Holding on to Wilson would solidify an elite group of pass catchers poised to make an impact in Eugene.
