RECRUITING FOOTBALL

The dead period is finally over and we are now in the contact period. This means that coaches are allowed to visit recruits. Head Coach Dan Lanning and Offensive Coordinator Will Stein are already taking advantage of this. According to reports, both coaches are expected to visit a 5-star soon.

According to Rivals' Adam Gorney, Dan Lanning and Will Stein are expected to visit Folsom High School next week. This would be the second time they visited Folsom in as many weeks. They visited just a few days ago to see 5-star 2026 quarterback Ryder Lyons, and now they will be back.

Oregon made it a big priority to sign two QBs last cycle, but as you've probably heard, Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele entered the portal and is going to Cal. Akili Smith Jr is now the only QB in that class. Oregon was starting to fade a little in Ryder Lyons recruitment, but with this development, Oregon seems to be back in the mix and will likely try to sign two QBs again this cycle.

Oregon already has a quarterback committed in the 2026 class, 4-star Jonas Williams, and Oregon is also heavily in the mix for 5-star QB Jared Curtis. There are lots of options available at the position, but Oregon would only take two of them at the most. If Oregon is able to pair Lyons or Curtis with Williams, that would be an incredible haul.

After Jared Curtis decommitted from Georgia, he named Oregon his leader. Since then, Oregon still seems to be at the top with other schools still pushing hard. For Lyons, USC has had the momentum for a while now, but he still hasn't pulled the trigger. We'll see if Oregon can battle back in that one.
