Signing day is inching closer, and recruiting is heating up. With Oregon having 16 commits and the highest average rating per commit in the nation, the Ducks are trying to solidify their class. Among their top commits, one standout is reportedly "locked in" despite heavy rumors of a flip.

According to Rivals’ Adam Gorney, 5-star Oregon commit Brandon Finney is "locked in" with the Ducks after aggressive attempts from Penn State and Michigan to flip him. Finney recently visited Eugene again, and that trip appears to have erased any lingering doubts.

Finney initially committed to Oregon in June, surprising many people who had predicted he would choose Penn State. Even after his commitment, Penn State made a strong push to bring him back into the fold, but their efforts seem to have fell short. Oregon has two elite cornerback commits in Brandon Finney and Dorian Brew, both of whom are ranked among the top 60 prospects in the country.

Listed at 6'2, 185 pounds, Finney possesses a rare combination of size, speed, and athleticism, giving him one of the highest upsides in the 2025 class. His physical tools and strong performances have skyrocketed him up the rankings in recent months.

Finney is rated as a 5-star prospect and ranked No. 29 overall in the Top247, while the 247Sports Composite places him at No. 39 overall with a 4-star rating. For a time, it seemed likely that Finney would flip to Penn State, but his commitment to Oregon now appears very strong. With signing day fast approaching, the Ducks seem poised to hold onto one of the nation’s fastest-rising cornerbacks.
