Oregon set to host a LOADED official visit weekend. Who’s most likely to commit?

RECRUITING FOOTBALL

This weekend is shaping up to be a massive one for Oregon. Six 5-star prospects will be on campus, giving the Ducks a prime opportunity to strengthen their standing with each of them. I ranked every recruit visiting based on how likely they are to commit to Oregon.

7. 5-star LB Tyler Atkinson

Atkinson looks like he’ll be the toughest pull for Oregon out of this visitor group. He’s not particularly close to the Ducks, and on top of that, Oregon is battling in-state Georgia, along with Clemson and Ohio State — all schools with plenty of NIL firepower. Lanning has been recruiting him since middle school, and while Oregon will stay in the mix, landing him will be an uphill battle.

6. 5-star WR Calvin Russell

Russell and Atkinson are by far the toughest pulls on this list. I think the Ducks have a slightly better shot at Russell than Atkinson, mainly because Oregon’s wide receiver board is thinner than linebacker, leaving less room for error. That could lead them to prioritize NIL resources at WR more than LB.

5. 5-star SAF Joey O'Brien

O’Brien is set to announce his commitment on the 20th but still has official visits to Oregon and Notre Dame before making his decision. The Ducks have a real shot to land him, though as of now, I’d lean toward him ending up elsewhere. That said, Oregon’s chances with him are much stronger than with the previous two, and it’s a very realistic possibility he ends up a Duck.

4. 3-star OL Jax Tanner

Early on Oregon was the heavy favorite for Tanner, but as times gone on, it's gotten a lot tighter. BYU and Michigan are Oregon's top competition but the Ducks are still firmly in his top-3. He's taking a two-year LDS mission trip so BYU could be the team to watch closest.

3. 5-star CB Brandon Arrington

He was originally scheduled to visit the last weekend of June but moved it up to this weekend. After Arrington’s spring game visit, Oregon looked like the front-runner. Since then, things have tightened up quite a bit. Texas A&M has emerged as Oregon’s top competition, with Alabama and USC still in the mix. As of now, I’d peg it as a battle between A&M and Oregon.

2. 5-star SAF Jett Washington

Washington was scheduled to visit next weekend but moved it up to this weekend. Oregon has had the edge for Washington for a while but Alabama and now a recent visit have given Oregon competition. Going into this visit, I still like Oregon's position, and coming out of a visit, you'd expect them to only strengthen it.

1. 5-star EDGE Richard Wesley

Wesley may have decommitted from Oregon, but the Ducks are still the team to beat. It wouldn’t surprise me if he ended up recommitting sooner rather than later — though that’s just a gut feeling. He does have an Ohio State visit scheduled for mid-season, so this one could drag out for a while. But as of today, Oregon remains in a great spot for Wesley.
