Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class is already shaping up to be impressive, but the 2026 class could end up being even better. The Ducks have secured five 2026 commits so far, and one of their biggest remaining targets will be on campus again this weekend.

5-star edge rusher Zion Elee from St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland, confirmed that he will attend Oregon’s game against Michigan State this weekend. Elee shares a connection with Oregon’s true freshman, Ify Obidegwu, who also played at St. Frances Academy. This familiarity could end up helping Oregon.

Elee was previously in Eugene for Oregon’s Saturday Night Live recruiting event and now will make a return visit this weekend. He already released his top five schools which include Oregon, Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State, and Georgia, but the ducks looks to be in the best position early.

Joining Elee on the visit will be his St. Frances teammate, high 4-star safety Jireh Edwards. Like Elee, Edwards has Oregon high on his list, making this weekend’s visit crucial for the Ducks efforts to solidify their standing with both prospects.

The state of Maryland is going to be a big part of Oregon’s 2026 class, as the Ducks are also targeting 5-star offensive lineman Immanuel Iheanacho (I'll have more on him in the coming days). While landing Elee, Edwards, and Iheanacho may seem like a longshot, Oregon is currently a top contender for each one of them.

Given how quickly Oregon has jumped on these 2026 recruits, it’s not far-fetched to believe that the 2026 class could eclipse the 2025 class. The state of Maryland, in particular, will be pivotal for Oregon’s recruiting success in 2026.
