Oregon's 2024 class is shaping up to be one of the best in the nation, with 15 commits and one of the highest average ratings per commit. While Oregon continues to pursue additional top talent, retention is just as crucial, and one of their key recruits has seemingly shut down his recruitment.

4-star wide receiver Cooper Perry, who committed to Oregon back in April, confirmed he will "definitely not" be taking any visits to schools outside of Oregon. Perry has made it clear he's fully committed to the Ducks and has already scheduled two return trips to Eugene. He has no plans to waver from his pledge.

Perry has planned visits to Eugene for two matchups: Oregon’s games against Michigan State and Ohio State. The Ohio State weekend, in particular, is set to host an impressive list of top-tier talent. Perry's presence could be pivotal as he can assist Oregon in recruiting other elite prospects for the class.

Kenny Dillingham and Arizona State made a strong push to keep the in-state recruit home, but Perry remained firm in his decision to head to Eugene. A key factor in his commitment was his friendship with Oregon’s true freshman quarterback Luke Moga. Moga’s connection to Perry helped solidify Oregon as the perfect landing spot.

Oregon’s wide receiver class, already one of the best in the country, boasts 5-star commitments from Dakorien Moore and Dallas Wilson. With Perry joining this elite group, Oregon’s wide receiver recruiting efforts are likely over. The Ducks are poised to continue fielding one of the deepest receiver rooms in the nation every year.

Perry’s senior season at Notre Dame Prep is off to a fast start, with him inching closer to the state touchdown record. Through just four games, the blue-chip recruit has hauled in 22 catches for 328 yards and 9 total touchdowns. Ranked #172 nationally by 247Sports composite rankings, Perry’s dominance on the field is a preview of the impact he could have in Eugene.
