Oregon's recruiting class has been strong this year, with 5-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson being one of the top commits. However, the Ducks are facing a challenge this weekend as Wilson, who is currently committed to Oregon, is expected to visit Florida for their game against Miami according to Chad Simmons. Wilson has already OV's to Miami on June 14th and Oregon on June 21st. Despite his commitment, this visit to Florida will raised some concerns for fans.
Wilson is a 6'3, 195-pound receiver from Tampa, Florida. He has been saying all the right things about his commitment to Oregon, but his upcoming visit to Florida suggests that he is still considering other options. The fact that Florida is much closer to his home gives them an advantage that Oregon doesn’t have.
The distance between Oregon and Wilson’s home in Tampa is considerable, and playing closer to home might be appealing to him and his family. Florida will likely use this visit to show him the benefits of staying in-state and playing in the SEC.
On the other hand, Oregon has some strong points in their favor. Junior Adams, Oregon's wide receivers coach, has been key in Wilson's recruitment. He has built strong relationships with Wilson and his family, which has been a big reason for Wilson’s commitment so far.
Wilson has also expressed how much he loves Oregon on social media. He sees it as a place where he can develop and thrive as a wide receiver. These factors make it hard to see him flipping his commitment easily.
If any team has a shot at flipping Wilson, it’s Florida or Miami. But for that to happen, they would likely need to have an impressive season this year to sway him away from Oregon. It's never good one a commit takes other visits, but right now there is no reason to worry.
