Oregon currently sits at 16 commits in the 2025 recruiting class and they also hold the highest average rating per commit in the nation. The Ducks have been making a push to further bolster their class by sending out several new offers recently, and these offers will be crucial come signing day. One of these new targets will be on campus soon, as Oregon looks to build on its already impressive haul.

Four-star linebacker Kaleb Burns has confirmed he will visit Oregon this weekend when the Ducks take on Ohio State. Burns, a current Baylor commit, has shown high interest in Oregon, and there is more than a strong chance the Ducks could flip him. This will be an official visit for Burns, giving him the full experience of what Oregon has to offer, and could be a pivotal moment in his recruitment.

Oregon, however, isn’t the only school vying for Burns commitment. Oklahoma recently extended an offer as well, and Burns is equally intrigued by the Sooners. He is set to visit Norman the week after his Oregon trip, setting up a potential battle between the Ducks and the Sooners for his signature, despite his current commitment to Baylor.

Burns has been pledged to Baylor since July but also holds offers from schools like Florida, Houston, and SMU. However, the recent interest from Oregon and Oklahoma has undoubtedly captured his attention and could shift the landscape of his recruitment. If Burns does flip to Oregon or Oklahoma, this would be his second flip this year as he was also committed to Texas Tech before flipping to Baylor.

Kaleb Burns is a composite 4-star linebacker according to 247Sports, though he’s rated as a high 3-star on most recruiting services. On3 ranks him the highest, listing him as a 4-star and #147 nationally.

I’ve said this before, but Oregon is going to sign at least one, if not two, linebackers in this class. Right now, the key targets to watch are Kaleb Burns, Noah Mikhail, and Elijah Barnes. At this point, Burns seems to be the most likely option, but there is competition for his signature.
