RECRUITING FOOTBALL

6/11/20243 min read

Oregon's fun started this morning when 4-star OT Ziyare Addison committed to the ducks. The fun is picking up and it will start to pick up even more over the next two weekends when around 25-30 recruits come on campus. For now, here is where Oregon stands with 18 of their targets.

Let's start with the visitors

3-Star OT Austin Pay:

Pay is fresh off his OV to Oregon and the ducks continue to look like the team to beat. I think Pay is severely underrated and I would bet on him becoming a unanimous blue-chip recruit in the future.

3-Star IOL Demetri Manning:

Manning is also fresh off his OV and Oregon continues to be in good position for him. Again, the only question is does Oregon take his commitment?

4-Star WR/CB Chris Lawson:

Again I think Oregon leads here too but it depends if they want to take his commitment. Oregon already has 3 WR's committed and they are still in it for a few more. Lawson is primarily a WR but Oregon reportedly likes him as a CB too.

4-Star LB Mason Posa:

There were rumors he did not make it out this weekend but I have not been able to confirm. Wisconsin leads in this and he needs to make it to campus if Oregon wants a shot.

Now let's get to some other names

4-Star Safety Kainoa Winston:

Winston is fresh off visits to Penn State and Michigan and both of those schools look to be in better position than Oregon. Winston is slated to visit next weekend and the ducks need to make a move.

4-Star DL Trajen Odom:

Odom is fresh off back to back visits to Ohio State and the buckeyes are the team to beat as of now. Odom will be back on campus next weekend and Oregon still has a good shot at landing his commitment. He is arguably Oregon's top DL target.

4-Star WR Marcus Harris:

Harris just took a visit to UCLA and they stole the momentum. He is set to visit next weekend but I wouldn't be surprised if he just commits to UCLA. Oregon likes him but they already have 3 WR's committed with more still on the board.

4-Star OT Aaron Dunn:

I think Oregon is in good position to land Dunn. Utah or USC are Oregon's biggest competition right now but the ducks get the last visit and he likes the way Oregon develops tackles.

4-Star OLB Justin Hill:

Hill just took a visit to USC but I don't think the trojans are serious contenders in this one. This is an Alabama, Ohio State, and Oregon battle. Right now Alabama probably leads but Oregon gets the last visit and should not be counted out.

4-Star TE Da'Saahn Brame:

Oregon has been the favorite for awhile now but a recent visit to Oklahoma is making things interesting. I still expect him to commit to Oregon but things are definitely getting a little more interesting. Oregon gets the last visit.

5-Star ATH Michael Terry:

Terry is excepted to take his OV June 21st but as of now Oregon is probably second or third in this one. He said at the On3 Elite Series that if he were to commit today it would be Nebraska but I don't see the huskers being a major threat in this one.

5-Star CB Dorian Brew:

Brew just visited USC and there is a lot of buzz that he might commit and cancel is other visits. If he doesn't do that, he is slated to visit next weekend. Oregon is in his top 5 but they are not better than third or fourth. His Oregon visit would have to blow him away.

4-Star CB Blake Woodby:

Woodby recently visited Auburn and the tigers have serious momentum. I'm not sure how hard Oregon is pushing in this one but he has an OV scheduled for late November.

4-Star CB Adonyss Currie:

Currie committed to Texas A&M not too long ago but Oregon has kept communication with him and are trying to get him on campus. Oregon really likes him and I don't think they will let him leave the west coast easily.

4-Star IOL Douglas Utu:

Utu is a big target for Oregon. He has taken his recruitment somewhat slowly so it could be awhile before he commits anywhere. Oregon is one of if not his top school right now. As of now he has not scheduled an OV to Oregon.

5-Star Safety Trey McNutt:

Oregon seems to have a small lead for McNutt right now. He's coming off visits to USC and Florida but Oregon is likely to get the last visit and I expect Lanning and company to give it everything they've got.

5-Star QB Husan Longstreet:

Longstreet committed to Texas A&M over Oregon but that did not stop the staff from backing off. Oregon is still pursuing him and the ducks should not be counted out.

5-Star WR Dakorien Moore:

Moore just took visits to Ohio State and LSU but this is likely going to come down to Texas and Oregon. Texas insider Justin Wells said that he thinks he is Texas's to lose but that he was scared Oregon was getting the last visit. Oregon has a good chance to land him but the hometown Longhorns are going to be tough to beat.
