As Signing Day approaches in just six weeks, the Oregon Ducks are poised to add more players to their 2025 recruiting class. With 16 commitments already secured, it's anticipated that this number could grow to around 22. This weekend, Oregon will get a shot at trying to flip a current B1G 10 commit at a position of need.
One of the highlighted visitors this weekend is Andrew Olesh, a top 100 tight end commit from Michigan. He was originally scheduled to visit for the highly anticipated Ohio State game, but he had to postpone his plans. However, he has confirmed with me that he will finally make the trip to Eugene for the Ducks matchup against Illinois. This visit will be Olesh's first time in Eugene, and it gives the staff another option at tight end.
Although Olesh is committed to Michigan, he has not shied away from expressing his interest in exploring other options. Schools like Alabama and Penn State are also vying for the talented tight end. Alabama recently secured their second tight end commitment for their class, which could lessen their pursuit of Olesh. Oregon is not a major threat to flip him just yet, but if things go well on this visit, that could change.
Ranked as the 77th best overall player and the third-best tight end in the 247Sports composite rankings, Olesh has the traits to be an elite tight end at the next level. Listed at 6'4.5 and weighing 215 pounds, he has the size that you want in a tight end. If Oregon does end up landing him, he could easily play as a true freshman.
Despite not having a tight end committed to their class yet, come December that will change. If I were to rank the top three most likely options for Oregon at tight end, they would be Vander Ploog, Linkon Cure, and Andrew Olesh in that order. With signing day on the horizon, it will be very intriguing to see which tight end Oregon ultimately signs.
