Early Look: Oregon's Top Targets for the 2027 Class
RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Oregon just secured another elite recruiting class under Dan Lanning, and the expectation for the 2027 group is no different. Even though it’s still early in the 2027 cycle, this stage is crucial for building relationships that take time to develop. Lanning’s approach has consistently focused on quality over quantity, and it’s fair to expect the same strategy again this year. With that in mind, here are the early targets to watch at each position.
Quarterback:
As of now, the three quarterbacks I’m watching closest are 4-stars Keegan Croucher, Weston Nielsen, and Will Mencl. Oregon does not appear to have a clear top target at the position yet, but they were very high on Croucher before he committed to Ole Miss. With Lane Kiffin now gone, that could open the door for the Ducks if they decide to make a push.
Other notable targets: 4-stars Trent Seaborn, Sione Kaho, and Brady Edmunds.
Running Back:
At running back, there are already several notable targets on the board. The ones I’m watching closest are 5-stars David Gabriel Georges and Landen Williams-Callis, along with 4-stars Caden Waye, Noah Roberts, and Myson Johnson-Cook. Oregon is the early favorite for Noah Roberts, and I like where the Ducks stand with Waye as well.
Other notable targets: 5-star Kemon Spell and 4-star Jakoby Dixon
Wide Receiver:
This is shaping up to be another deep wide receiver class, and the names I’m watching closest are 5-stars Xavier Sabb and Kesean Bowman, along with 4-stars Dakota Guerrant, Julian Caldwell, Damani Warren, and Lawrence Britt. Of that group, I feel the best about Oregon’s chances with Guerrant, Caldwell, and Sabb.
Other notable targets: 5-stars Monshun Sales and Easton Royal, and 4-stars Khalil Taylor, Trenton Yancey, Ty Johnson, and Osani Gayles
Tight End:
Oregon is quickly becoming one of the most attractive destinations for tight ends, and the names I’m watching closest in the 2027 class are 5-star Ahmad Hudson and 4-stars Rahzario Edwards and Anthony Cartwright. Of that group, I feel best about Oregon’s chances with Cartwright, but the staff will continue to swing at Hudson and other top prospects.
Other notable targets: 4-stars Brock Williams and 4-star Zac Fares
Offensive Tackle:
You can never have too many offensive linemen, and Oregon will continue trying to stack elite talent. Early on, the names I’m watching are 5-star Kennedy Brown and 4-stars Qua Ford, Li’Marcus Jones, and Jake Hildebrand. It’s still early, but Oregon is expected to be a major factor in Brown’s recruitment.
Other notable targets: 5-star Mark Matthews and 4-stars Jimmy Kalis and Brian Swanson
Interior OL:
The early names I’m tracking here are 5-star Ismael Camara and 4-star Gecova Doyal. Oregon is a major factor for Camara and has been recruiting Doyal for a while. I expect more names to emerge at this spot as the cycle develops.
Other notable targets: 3-star Lex Mailangi
Defensive Tackle:
Oregon is targeting a lot of defensive tackles early, and the names I’m watching include 5-stars Jalen Brewster and Marcus Fatatou, along with 4-stars Kasi Currie, George Toia, Brayden Parks, and Alifeleti Tuihalamaka. Oregon will continue to push hard for Brewster, and with Fatatou reclassifying, he immediately becomes a major priority as well.
Other notable targets: 4-stars Jon Ioane, Elija Harmon, and Myels Smith
Edge Rusher:
Oregon’s lone 2027 commit is 4-star edge rusher Cam Pritchett, but the staff will look to add more pass rushers in this class. The names I’m watching closest are 5-stars DJ Jacobs and Anthony Sweeney, along with 4-star Rashad Streets. Oregon was the early front-runner for Streets before Lupoi left. The Ducks are still a major contender, but that change did set them back slightly.
Other notable targets: 4-stars Krew Jones, Joseph Buchanan, and Troy Bowens
Linebacker:
Oregon’s 2027 recruiting efforts at linebacker are off to a strong start. The main targets are 5-star Kaden Henderson and 4-stars Toa Satele and Brayton Feister, along with 3-star Sam Ngata. It’s still early, but I like Oregon’s position with Feister and Ngata. Even though Ngata is currently a 3-star, he looks like a prospect who should earn a ratings bump down the line.
Other notable targets: 3-stars Kobe Rhymes and Isaiah Phelps.
Cornerbacks:
The main cornerback targets for Oregon are 5-star Donte Wright and 4-stars Hayden Stepp, Juju Johnson, and Josiah Molden. I think Oregon is in a strong position with all of them except Johnson. Wright is currently committed to Georgia, but I like Oregon’s chances to eventually flip him.
Other notable targets: 5-star Duvay Williams and 4-stars Xavier Hasan, Censere Gaylord, and Danny Lang
Safety:
The main targets here are 5-star Honor Fa’alave-Johnson and 4-stars Gavin Williams and Bode Sparrow. Oregon was the early favorite for Johnson, but it looks like other schools have started to close the gap. Sparrow is a true athlete who could play either wide receiver or defensive back, but for now I’ll place him in this group, and Oregon is an early favorite for him.
Other notable targets: 4-stars Isala Aisa Wily-Ava and Myles Baker
