Does Oregon Still Lead For DJ Pickett?

RECRUITING FOOTBALL

As you probably know by now, DJ Pickett released a top 3 of Oregon, Miami, and LSU. He set a commitment date for July 17th. If Oregon is able to go into Florida and land the #1 recruit in the state, it would really show that Oregon is recruiting at a level we haven't ever seen. The ducks already have two 5-Stars committed in Dallas Wilson and Dakorien Moore and adding Pickett would be insane.

For the last week or two Oregon was the team with the most buzz around them. Then Pickett decided to move up his commitment date. It was looking like Oregon was the clear choice. There were rumors he wanted to wait and see how Miami's season played out before committing, so when he moved it up, it made it seem like Oregon was the likely destination. On top of that, when Oregon was heavily trending, it was rumored that Pickett had already chosen his college destination.

Is Oregon still the team to beat?

As of now, this race has gotten a lot closer according to Steve Wiltfong. He says that Miami is generating more buzz than they were previously. He doesn't say that Miami leads, but he says that this is getting a lot more interesting. LSU is still lurking, but this is likely going to come down to Miami and Oregon. I still give Oregon the edge just based on the fact that Pickett originally wanted to wait and see how Miami's season played out before committing. Everyone knows how good Oregon will be, the only question mark is Miami. If he's committing now, Oregon makes the most sense.
