Da'Saahn Brame decommits, what's next for Oregon?

RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Oregon just lost out on one of their top tight end targets, 4-star Da'Saahn Brame, who flipped to Tennessee. However, Oregon’s class is still looking strong and they’re poised to add more talent at the position. Here's a look at the key tight end prospects the Ducks could be targeting.

5-Star Michael Terry

Michael Terry, listed as an athlete, is a versatile player who could excel at tight end. Oregon is heavily targeting Terry and he is set to commit later this summer. Oregon is currently in a good spot with Terry as we speak.

5-Star Linkon Cure

Linkon Cure is currently committed to Kansas State, but Oregon isn’t backing down. This recruitment could be drawing parallels to last year's recruitment of Elijah Rushing. Expect the Ducks to keep chipping away at his commitment.

4-Star Vander Ploog

Washington commit Vander Ploog has been rising in the rankings and he visited Oregon earlier this year. If the Ducks decide to re-enter the race, things could get interesting. Keep an eye on this one, as Oregon could shake things up.

4-Star Kaleb Edwards

Currently committed to Alabama, 4-star tight end Kaleb Edwards had Oregon in his final three choices. This is probably the one I have the least confidence in but if the staff thinks they have a shot they will keep the pressure on.

4-Star Baron Naone

Hailing from Oregon, Baron Naone hasn’t been heavily recruited by the Ducks, but that could change. If Oregon circles back, Naone could be an easy flip. His local roots and desire to play close to home might work in Oregon's favor.

Reclassifications:

Oregon could also eye the future with 5-star prospects Kendre Harrison and Brock Harris from the 2026 class. There’s a small chance for one of them to reclassify to 2025, giving Oregon another tight end option. Although it's unlikely, reclassification could be something the ducks turn to.

Transfer Portal

If Oregon misses out on all their primary targets, they always have the transfer portal as a backup option. The portal offers a chance to add experienced players who can make an immediate impact, ensuring that the Ducks remain competitive at the tight end position regardless of how the high school recruiting cycle unfolds.
