Signing Day keeps getting closer, and Oregon is looking to round out its recruiting class with some key final additions. With 15 commits already, the Ducks are aiming to reach around 20 by Signing Day. In a recent development, one of Oregon’s top remaining targets has scheduled an official visit just days before signing day.
One of Oregon’s top flip targets, 4-star tight end Andrew Olesh, has planned an official visit to Eugene on November 30th, when Oregon takes on their rival, Washington. This timing is big because it gives Oregon the final chance to make a strong impression, as they’ll likely get the last visit from Olesh before he makes his final decision.
Currently, Oregon doesn’t have any tight ends committed in their class, but they still have three major targets on the board: Linkon Cure, Vander Ploog, and Olesh. Oregon is trending well with Ploog, and Cure is expected to visit campus this weekend. With all three top targets still in play, the next few weeks should provide more clarity on Oregon’s prospects for the tight end room.
Olesh is a big-time recruit with high potential. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, he’s the 76th best recruit nationally and the third highest ranked tight end. Listed at 6'5 and weighing 215 pounds, Olesh will have an ideal college build if he adds some weight.
Despite being committed to Michigan, Olesh is still being pursued by other programs. Penn State and Notre Dame are both actively trying to flip him, with Penn State currently in the best position to pull off the flip. Oregon, however, has a real shot at flipping him themselves.
Olesh’s visit to Oregon could be pivotal in swaying his decision. With Signing Day fast approaching, the Ducks have a chance to make a strong last impression and potentially add this talented tight end to their team.
