RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Oregon's 2026 class is off to a fantastic start with 10 commits, but so far, the Ducks have no wide receiver commits. That will obviously change in the future, but there looks to be a new name out there for Duck fans to keep an eye on, and he's one of the top recruits in the country.

That name is Top-100 4-star 2026 WR Nasir Rankin. Rankin is a 6'1, 178-pound wide receiver from Morgan Park High School in Chicago, Illinois. Oregon only offered him about three weeks ago, but it seemed to spark his interest in the Ducks, as he already has a visit date locked in to Eugene.

He tells me he will visit Oregon in the spring on April 8th. As of right now, it looks like the hometown Illinois Illini are the team to beat, but anytime Oregon enters the equation, they become a serious threat, especially with the way they use wide receivers. Oregon is likely going to use this visit as an opportunity to lock in an official visit with him in the summer.

Like I said, Illinois looks like the favorite at the moment, but he also has offers from Ole Miss, North Carolina, Michigan, Nebraska, and Missouri. Rankin could play an important role in Oregon's 2026 wide receiver recruiting. They're trying to flip 5-star Chris Henry Jr. away from Ohio State and have other targets that include Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, Jalen Lott, and Jabari Mack, just to name a few. But Rankin could very well be a player that Oregon adds to their class come signing day.

Rankin ranks highest on 247Sports, where he is #78 nationally. He also ranks #185 on ESPN and is a 4-star on Rivals. On3 ranks him as a 3-star with an 88 rating, but they also have his measurables different from the other sites, so it's probably safe to assume they haven't evaluated him in a while. Regardless, Nasir Rankin could be a big name at the wide receiver position for Oregon fans to keep an eye on.
