Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class is shaping up to be one of the nation’s best. The ducks have the highest average rating per commit while having 16 commits so far. Among these, three prospects are ranked as composite 5-stars. While the Ducks have already secured some elite talents, their work isn’t finished. Numerous highly sought after prospects remain on their radar, and one of them is eyeing a return visit to Eugene.

As I've said numerous times, Oregon’s tight end recruiting has not gone exactly as planned. Despite this, the situation could change significantly in the coming weeks. 5-star tigth end Linkon Cure tells me he will in fact be in Eugene this weekend. There was chatter that Cure was thinking about canceling his visit, but he tells me it is still on. Getting Cure on campus is all Oregon needs to make this flip that much more realistic.

Securing a visit from Cure is just the first step in what could be a major recruiting victory for the Ducks. Oregon has never stopped pursuing Cure despite his commitment to Kansas State, and their persistence could pay off as the early signing period approaches. This recruitment continues to remind me of Elijah Rushing's recruitment, where Oregon managed to flip a 5-star prospect that originally committed to their hometown team. There’s a growing belief that a similar scenario could unfold with Cure.

Cure initially committed to Kansas State on July 1st, choosing the Wildcats over Oregon and Texas A&M. While the Aggies were considered a significant threat during his initial recruitment, it now appears to be a two team race between Oregon and Kansas State down the stretch. With Oregon already building some buzz behind the scenes with Cure, this visit has a real chance to shake things up and potentially secure his signature come December.

Adding some more talented tight ends is a major priority for the Ducks, especially with current seniors Terrance Ferguson and Patrick Herbert set to graduate after this season. Should Cure decide to flip his commitment to Oregon, he would be in a prime position to contribute as a true freshman. His elite size, athleticism, and pass catching ability could make him an instant impact player in Oregon’s offense, which will always attract elite playmakers like Cure.

Cure is not the only tight end Oregon remains in contact with; the Ducks are still actively recruiting Vander Ploog and Andrew Olesh as well. However, Cure is undoubtedly their top target at the position. Should he make a return visit for the Maryland game, it could be the beginning of a final push to bring him to Eugene.
