RECRUITING FOOTBALL

Offensive line recruiting has been a hot topic among Oregon Ducks fans in recent months. The chatter shut up after Oregon flipped Douglas Utu from Tennessee, but the focus has never wavered for the coaching staff. Knowing the importance of dominating in the trenches, Oregon has been relentless in pursuing the nation’s best offensive linemen. This weekend, the Ducks will host one of the top prospects in the country, a 5-star offensive tackle.

Immanuel Iheanacho, a 5-star offensive tackle from the 2026 class, has confirmed plans to return to Eugene this weekend. He tells me he will be at Oregon as long as his school and football season allow him. Iheanacho is listed at 6'7 and 345 pounds, and he is a top 3 overall prospect in his class and a top priority for Oregon. He previously visited Oregon for their annual Saturday Night Live event, and his connection with offensive line coach A'lique Terry has only grown stronger since. Iheanacho loves Terry’s coaching style and Oregon’s approach to developing offensive linemen.

With offers from powerhouse programs like Alabama, Ohio State, and Georgia, Iheanacho’s recruitment is shaping up to be very competitive. Oregon, however, has positioned itself well early on. Iheanacho's size, athleticism, and versatility make him one of the most coveted players in the 2026 cycle, and his upcoming visit to Eugene is another opportunity for the Ducks to solidify their standing.

Iheanacho is currently ranked as the nation’s second-best offensive tackle, but Oregon isn’t stopping there. The Ducks are also heavily recruiting the top ranked tackle in the 2026 class, Jackson Cantwell. Cantwell has already visited Eugene once, and Oregon is considered to be one of the frontrunners in his recruitment as well. If the Ducks land both Iheanacho and Cantwell, it would arguably be one of the best offensive tackle haul in college football history.

While there’s still a long road ahead in the recruitment process, Oregon’s efforts with Iheanacho and Cantwell are relentless, and the potential payoff could be monumental. Landing both tackles would no doubt solidify Oregon's offensive line for years to come, giving the Ducks a dominant presence in the trenches as they continue to compete in the more physical B1G 10.
