Ohio State's prized 5-star cornerback commit, Na'eem Offord, has scheduled an official visit to Oregon on June 14th. The 6'1, 185-pound defensive back is making his return to Eugene after an unofficial visit just last week. Offord, who's from Birmingham, Alabama, has expressed a great deal of respect for Oregon head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks' program.
Despite his upcoming visit to Oregon, Offord remains firmly committed to Ohio State. The elite defensive back has consistently reaffirmed his intention to join the Buckeyes, dismissing any speculation about his recruitment. At the recent On3 Elite Event, Offord made it clear where his commitment lies, reportedly declining to wear any team's hat other than Ohio State's.
While Offord's commitment to Ohio State appears strong, his decision to take official visits shows that his recruitment might still be open to some extent. Oregon, in particular, seems to have the best shot at potentially flipping the standout cornerback. The Ducks have impressed Offord enough to secure multiple visits.
Luring Offord away from Ohio State will be a massive challenge. The Buckeyes have long been known for their strong recruiting and NIL program. Flipping any top recruit from them will be an up-hill battle. As the summer progresses and Offord's visit to Oregon approaches, we will see if the Ducks can make a good enough case to sway the talented cornerback from his Ohio State pledge.
For now, Na'eem Offord remains locked in with the buckeyes, but the allure of Oregon and the efforts of Coach Lanning and company ensure that this recruitment battle is far from over.
