Oregon put together a very strong offensive line haul in 2025, but 2026 has the potential to be even better. One of their 2026 targets is 3-star interior offensive lineman Jax Tanner. While Tanner is currently rated as a 3-star, he allowed zero sacks last season and has recently been receiving offers from programs across the country. He attended Oregon's Junior Day event last weekend, and I had the opportunity to catch up with him and ask a few questions about his trip and his thoughts on Oregon.
Question: How did your recent visit go, and what stood out the most to you?
"The recent visit was amazing, it was such a blast not only for myself but my little brother as well. One thing that stood out to me was how they treated my family. How much care they showed to my little brother and respect to my parents!"
Question: Which coaches did you spend the most time with, and what was their message?
"I spent the majority of my time with Coach Tyler Dean, Coach Terry, Coach Lorig, and Coach Lanning! One of the biggest things they got across was how much support they gave and showed for me serving a 2-year LDS mission."
Question: What factors are going to be most important when you make your commitment?
"Some of my big factors are somewhere that can help develop me on and off the field, have an amazing team and school culture, somewhere that can help me achieve my dream of making it to the highest level, and somewhere with amazing competition in league and in practice."
Question: Are you planning any other visits to schools? And do you see yourself taking an official visit to Oregon?
"As of now, I’m not doing any more junior days. I’ll be making spring practice for various schools and then take my OV’s. I’m planned for taking my OV to Oregon June 6-8."
Question: Where does Oregon stand in your recruitment after this visit?
"High. The culture that they have and are continuing to build in Eugene is awesome!"
